John William Blackett
The leap-year baby
A leap-year baby and child emigrant — just eight when his family sailed from England in 1856, and possibly nearly twenty by the time he first saw the Utah mountains. He settled in Springville and married Elizabeth Jane Averett, joining the English Blackett line to the Carolina Averett line.
