Add What You Know
Two ways to add to the family history. Both check what you add for accuracy and log it in What's New. Anything that can't be confirmed is marked as a research lead.
Quick add — type it
Jerry, you remember things this document doesn't. Type anything here β a story, a name, a date, a correction. The helper checks it against the family history (and looks up any public facts like dates or places), writes it up in the family's voice, and adds it to the history right away. For a long note this can take up to a minute.
The helper never invents family facts from the internet β it only checks things that can be checked, and marks anything unconfirmed as a research lead. Scott can remove any entry from What's New.
Talk it through — or add a photo
Have an old letter, an obituary, or a photograph? Or not sure how to word something? Add a photo and/or type a note, and talk it over with the helper first. It will read your photo, transcribe it, ask questions, and help shape it. When you're happy, press Add this to the history. This is the best way for a long story — it answers in a few seconds, so you can go back and forth.
Photos are read to transcribe and shape your entry; the finished text is what gets added (the photo isn't posted publicly). Same accuracy checks and research-lead tags apply, and Scott can remove any entry.
